Abstract: Sixteen endophytic actinomycetes were isolated from the nodules of Casuarina equisetifolia planted in Fujian, Guangdong and Hainan island. All of them have the typical morphological characteristics of Frankia. 12 out of 16 strains have infecting abilities, but infecting abilities of these isolates are different from each other. The strains showed differences in cultural characteristics. The tested strains grew well on BAP medium but grew poorly on Jan Blom or Qmod medium.
