Abstract: This paper deals with the physiological problems on germination of teak (Tectona grandis) fruit. After a series of experiments and analysis, it had been found that the principal cause of the slow germination of teak fruit is the tremendous machinal resistance of its mesocarp and endocarp, and the variation existed in different individuals and types. The major conditions for germinating were decided by its genetic, physiological and biochemical characteristics, which are high, alternate changing-temperature and good aeration status.
