A Discussion on the Appraisable Indices for the Quality of Containerized Slash Pine Seedling

This study was conducted in Jiangdou,Jiangsu Province from February to December,1987 to determinate the main indices to appraise the quality of containerized Slash Pine seedling.Two kinds of containers,a dozen of container sizes and five kinds of media were used to raise the seedlings.11 indices of 1800 seedling samples were measured.By means of principal component analysis,it was concluded that the quality of root ball and seedling weight should be considered as the main indices and seedling height as the supplmentary one for evaluating its quality.
