Abstract: In this paper the light microscopy, electron microscopy and orientation ultrathin sectioning techniques are used for the detection of MLO, and the MLO in the infected sieve elements can be directly and reliably observed with an electron microscope. The convincing detection is furnished for the study in the elimination of MLO of paulownia saplings and this technique can also be used universally in the detection of MLO in other plants.
