Abstract: The Banhgladesh Lac insect, Kerria sindica Mahd. is superior to Kerria chinensis Mahd. in China in terms of the resin secreted. Introduction of that insect aims at exploring the possibility of propagating it under domestic conditions followed by popularization on a large scale to provide shellac of fine quality. It has been researched for 3 years and 7 months from attempting inoculation to successful large-scale propagation through 7 generations. The expected goal has been achieved with more than 2000 kg of raw lac being produced in this period of time.It appears that this species of lac insect has a bright future to be bred in some suitable area in China.
