  • In this paper,the spatial distribution and sampling technique for larval population of Gilpinia sp.was studied.The larval population of Gilpinia sp. belongs to aggregated distribution in stand,and the aggregated level goes against the density of the larval population. The basical component of the distribution is the individual colony. The distribution ofindividuals in the colony are in random. “Five”point sarnpling and single diagonal line sampling are suitable ones for population density investigation. If a rough estimate for population density is needed, the following model can be used:m=89.084[-ln(1-p)-1.2018].
