Abstract: This study deals with tissue sub culture of three important commercial rattan species, namely Calamus simplicifolius、Daemonorops margaritae and Calamus egregius. Periodic characteristics of the propagule were observed among species and their families during the whole culture period. The results showed that the whole development period of sub culture can be divided into three stages,i.e.adaptive stage, propagation stage and slow death stage. The study also revealed the development pattern in one generation, from callus recovery, rapid growth and aging. All these results provided important information for determining the appropriate time for transferring.
